I have a secret: I believe in magic.

Nope, I’m not shitting you. I believe we interact with magic every single day.

But I’m not talking about card tricks or hats and rabbits. I’m talking about words.

You see, words have the magic to transport you to wherever you want to go and turn you into whoever you want to be. Read a story about a mountain climber, and the black and white print transforms into jagged edges and whitened fingertips gripping for dear life as the bitter wind rips through your hair 10,000 feet above sea level.

Let’s get into the juicy deets.

I published my first book, Nostrum, in March of 2019. It’s a utopian/dystopian short novel about a world where anxiety has been “cured” and no longer exists. Outside of that, I’ve written professionally for 10+ years. This includes my novel, multiple short stories, over 500 blog articles, over 100 web pages, and probably thousands of emails. Woo, big numbers!

I attended Northern Arizona University, pursuing a Major in Journalism and a Minor in Electronic Media & Film for two years before transferring to The Art Institute of Phoenix and graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Marketing. This combined experience gave me a solid foundation in writing both for media and content marketing.

After graduation, I worked as a content marketer for 7+ years, creating strategies and writing content for businesses across multiple industries. I’ve worked in-house, for agencies, and freelancing. In 2021, I struck out on my own as a content creator. And in 2024, I shifted back to freelance writing and working on my second novel.

Now, my time is primarily split between two equally important writing adventures: freelance writing & authorship.

What about the creative writing?

Outside of freelancing, I’m also an author and creative writer who primarily focuses on the dystopian/utopian, fantasy, and romance genres.

Specifically, my favorite thing to write is speculative fiction. I love imagining universes where things are just a little bit different than they are in the real world.

I often find myself asking things like, “What would the world look like if…”, and creating a story from that.
